Gender and Energy: The Balance of Power

This publication describes, among other things, the responsibility to find alternative energy sources and to deal with energy poverty, particularly in rural areas that mainly falls on women and girls. Therefore, it is essential to work to eradicate the disparities in access to energy. It is important to ensure that the voices of women, regardless of their origin or socioeconomic status, are heard and resound in the formulation of policies at all levels of the governments of Latin America and the Caribbean.
