The “Food Loss and Waste Country Progress Index” (“FLW Country Progress Index” or “the Index”) is designed to provide an objective assessment of the degree to which countries are taking steps toward reducing their food loss and waste (FLW) in alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal Target 12.3. It can help countries identify the aspects of their FLW strategies on which they are making progress and how their progress compares with that of other countries. It can show which countries have made the most progress to date and help those that have made less progress identify best practices and key next steps.
