| dc.description.abstract | REVELA analyzes market expectations of growth and inflation in Latin America countries. The figures analyzed represent the results of surveys of private sector actors conducted by the central banks of each country according to their own specific methodologies. They do not represent official projections by the IDB or any other official body. RES collects the results of these surveys from participating central banks on a monthly basis to produce a report and a set of illustrative graphs and tables. The September issue of REVELA reports that expectations for 2007 growth rose in four countries, especially in Colombia, where 2007 growth is now expected to be 6.5%, compared to 5.8% last month. Inflation expectations for 2007 increased in most countries surveyed, particularly in Bolivia, where they rose from 7.25% to 10.10%. Other countries where expected inflation increased significantly were Brazil and Uruguay. In Chile, inflation expectations continued to rise and are now 5.7%, compared to 4.8% in August. Expectations for 2008 inflation in Chile remain significantly lower at 3.30%. |
