Water and Sanitation Access Data Gaps in LAC

Having consistent, reliable and comparable information for each indicator of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is essential to direct the efforts and investments necessary to achieve them. This fact sheet summarizes the findings of the recent publication "Water and Sanitation Services in Latin America and the Caribbean: Overview of databases and information gaps", with a focus on the data availability challenges that the water and sanitation sector faces, and the importance of closing data gaps to improve measurement of progress towards achieving the SDG.
