The Sustainability of Urban Heritage Preservation: The Case of Aleppo

This study examines the state of the old cities of Aleppo in the Syrian Arab Republic, Shibam in Hadramaut/Yemen, and Sibiu (former Hermannstadt) in Romania. It focuses on the strategy of integrated conservation and development that has been adopted in these three areas and provides constructive recommendations for future planning.
