Did you know that migration drives countries' growth and innovation capacity?

Latin America and the Caribbean is facing an unprecedented migration phenomenon. Of the nearly 15 million migrants in the region, more than half have left their countries in the last 5 years, due to situations of political, social and economic instability, natural disasters and COVID-19.
From the Innovation Laboratory (IDB Lab) and the IDB Migration Unit, we believe that this challenge demands a more active and innovative participation of the private sector and civil society, which allows the creation of new opportunities by uniting the economic and social growth generated by migration with the capacity for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship that characterizes these sectors and migrants. This approach, which we call MIGnnovation, seeks to support the efforts of the public sector, take advantage of the talent of people, new technologies and the construction of alliances to turn this reality into a great opportunity for inclusive development for our countries. Learn in this publication about data, stories and successful initiatives that demonstrate the power of MIGnnovation to address the migration challenge, and thus continue our work of improving the lives of millions.
