| dc.description.abstract | Energy storage, despite playing a fundamental role in the decarbonization of the energy sector and the consequent reduction of GHG emissions, faces multiple regulatory barriers in electricity markets that hinder its development. This document presents a synthesis of international experiences in Energy System Storage regulation in markets with high storage penetration, aiming to identify key regulatory elements that may facilitate the rapid adoption of Energy System Storage in Latin American and Caribbean countries. The electricity markets considered were the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Italy, and Germany in Europe; California and Texas in the United States; and Australia. |
