dc.description.abstractThe COVID-19 pandemic has marked a before and after in the design of health infrastructure and in the way health services around the world are organized. Experience has shown that new, broader, more flexible and dynamic strategies are needed for managing similar crises in the future, which will inevitably impact the way we design the hospitals of tomorrow. The publication "Hospitals, Technologies and Networks: The Evolution of the Health Infrastructure Post-COVID-19 " frames the key concepts and challenges that the design of health services and health infrastructure in the region in general will have to face in the coming decades. The note is organized around four thematic axes: (i) the role, organization and management of health networks, (ii) the recognition of digital health as a channel of care and coordination, (iii) the contribution to the health system of primary care, and (iv) the need to have flexible and adaptable health facilities (inpatient and outpatient). The publication includes lessons learned, reflections, and recommendations, in order to provide key concepts that will allow the region's health systems to better cope with future pandemics.
