| dc.description.abstract | As users of forest products and guardians of traditional knowledge, women have always been involved in forestry. Nevertheless, their access to forest resources and benefits and participation in forest management is limited compared to mens despite the fact that trees are more important to women, who depend on them for their families food security, income generation and cooking fuel. La presente guía pretende facilitar la incorporación de una perspectiva de género en las operaciones de mitigación y adaptación al cambio climático en bosques, con especial atención a todas aquellas enmarcadas dentro de REDD. La guía aborda 4 temas -cadenas de valor, esquemas de pagos ambientales, leña y biodiversidad- en los que se puede establecer una relación más directa (i) sobre cómo los impactos del cambio climático afectan a las mujeres en el bosque y (ii) sobre cómo las medidas de mitigación y adaptación les impactan en el acceso a recursos y la distribución de beneficios. |
