dc.description.abstractThe Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) acknowledges that leveraging economic and financial resources through conventional programs only will not be enough to reach the goals –basicallydue to the region’s lack of economic resources. That’s why, among other strategies, it believes that developing and enhancing the region’s innovation capacity should be one of the main strategies to bridge the gap. This does not imply stopping to promote conventional service provision programs, but to recognize the fundamental role of innovation as a catalyst and solution generator in scaling water and sanitation to impact a solid, critical mass of beneficiaries.
