| dc.description.abstract | The analysis is informed by the particular circumstances and needs of each country, as well as by the goals of key regional energy integration initiatives. The energy sector is referred to here as all economic activities related to the use of renewable and nonrenewable resources for the production, delivery, and consumption of energy in its various forms, such as electricity, heat, or fuels for further processing, as well as the optimization of energy use through energy efficiency and conservation. To approach this complex set of relationships, this document presents the challenges of the sector in the region, recognizing that they are interrelated and have varying levels of importance depending on the country in question. |
