dc.description.abstractThis discussion paper has the following objectives: 1) Review and discuss the Bank's programmatic approach to operations in solid waste management (and in other similar operations) and the impacts that approach has on environmental, social and health, and safety (ESHS) aspects. 2) Highlight and discuss the need to strengthen capacity in ESHS aspects of solid waste management among local agencies in light of the Bank's programmatic approach. 3) Summarize the current situation in the solid waste sector, as well as the ESHS aspects of solid waste management, and provide insights in the context of Argentina. 4) Provide recommendations to improve ESHS aspects in solid waste management.
