One of the key strategic activities of disaster risk management at country level is the assessment of disaster risk. However, few methods allow analysis of the disaster risk for two reasons. One is due to the lack of information that allows building a robust database to describe the exposure values. The other is due to the lack of methodologies for modeling the hazardous risk, the vulnerability function, the exposed values and the risk of calculation in an integrated manner. The aim of the study Disaster Risk Profile for Jamaica is to assess the country's disaster risk, using an appropriate probabilistic technique that takes into account the uncertainty of the process, the inevitable limitations on information and the available electronic computing capacity.
