dc.description.abstractOn the occasion of the recent publication of the WHO-UNICEF report entitled "Progress on Sanitation and Drinking Water: 2010 Update", describing the progress made toward achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) using data from 2008, this article has been prepared to provide an analysis of the progress observed in Latin America and the Caribbean. It also offers new estimates of the investment needed to achieve the MDGs by the target date of 2015.
