dc.description.abstractThis presentation focuses on access to water and sanitation related to the Millennium Development Goals in Asia. In most Asian countries 60 per cent or more of the population have access to water. The author explores a series of topics that include which is the relationship between income and access to water and to sanitation, which are the strategic imperatives, forecasts on progress with target 10 for countries in the Asian region, and financing issues including a review of aid and loans in Asia between 1990 and 2002. Finally, regional co-operation opportunities are identified. This presentation was created for the 2006 LAEBA Third Annual Meeting, in Seoul, Korea, on November 16-17, 2006.
