dc.description.abstractThis presentation discusses IDB support for sub-sovereign government development in Latin America. Detailed are the experience of the IDB in quantitative and qualitative aspects, the road for Latin American countries towards creditworthiness, and the application of risk assessment of sub-sovereign governments in Latin America. The presentation ends with lessons learned which includes: complexity of project vs. proportion of risk, revenue bonds vs. general purpose bonds, creative financing structures, the role of technical assistance, and the need of an IDB strategy/role along the continuum.
