dc.description.abstractThis document is part of a series of studies commissioned by the Inter-American Development Bank for the first meeting of the Regional Policy Dialogue in Transparency and Public Policy, to be held in the Bank's Headquarters in Washington, D.C., the 26 and 27 of April, 2001. The paper has two purposes: to review the progress achieved so far in the comparative study of the Civil Service in Latin America and the Caribbean, and to present preliminary conclusions and options that result from the analysis.
