dc.description.abstractThis presentation has the objectives to identify the main experiences of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in the Caribbean and to recommend best practices. In addition, this presentation aims to identify the reasons for success and failure, establish the exit rate as an indicator of success, and lastly, to define steps for increasing the productivity of microfinance institutions. This presentation was presented by the Poverty Reduction and Social Protection Network of the Regional Policy Dialogue for the 3rd Hemispheric Meeting held on May 23rd and 24th, 2002.
