dc.description.abstractThis presentation was commissioned by the Poverty Reduction and Social Protection Network of the Regional Policy Dialogue for the III Hemispheric Meeting celebrated on May 23rd and 24th, 2002. Chile is undergoing an aging demographic transition of its population. This transition will take three or four more decades. The country¿s demographic context is a fundamental factor for the development of social policies, especially in matters related to the social protection of the adult population.
