dc.description.abstractThe Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) contributes to sustainable economic and social development in Latin America and the Caribbean in a wide variety of ways: through our lending operations, leadership in regional initiatives, research and knowledge dissemination activities, events, institutes and programs. This report, the IDB Sustainability Review 2007, highlights the way in which the Bank promotes sustainability through its strategies, policies and investments, provides information on how we manage and monitor performance and major achievements in key sustainability topics. The review includes a summary of sustainability commitments, in particular those commitments made by the Bank in responding to the Blue Ribbon Panel recommendations and previous Sustainability Reviews, detailing the Bank's progress to date in achieving them. We also provide information about our in-house sustainability efforts for stakeholders to learn more about how the Bank upholds sustainability standards in its day-to-day operations. This report reviews the 2007 activities for both the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), two members of the IDB Group.
