This report is the first Annual Report for the Social Inclusion Trust Fund, highlighting projects and activities supported by the Fund between February 2003 and March 2004. The multi-donor Social Inclusion Trust Fund was established in February 2003 to support small-scale initiatives addressing the social inclusion of five main target groups: indigenous and Afro-descendant populations, persons with disabilities, persons with HIV/AIDS and poor women in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Fund channels its support to excluded groups in three main areas: organizational strengthening and awareness raising, research and dissemination, and support to Bank operations.
