This Independent Country Program Review (ICPR) examines the Inter-American Development Bank Group's (IDB Group) country strategy and country program in the Dominican Republic for the period 2021-2024. The ICPR aims to provide the relevant information to the Boards of the IDB Group to support their discussions for the next country strategy. In addition, the preparation process and findings of this ICPR should also provide Management with helpful inputs to improve the design of the next country strategy and the associated country program. The ICPR may also provide the Government and other stakeholders with an independent perspective on the IDB Group's work in the country.
The ICPR is based on a documentary review and triangulation of information provided by IDB Group specialists and key counterparts in the country. The IDB Group's Office of Evaluation and Oversight (OVE) found that the country strategies' objectives were aligned with key development challenges and national priorities, but could have better reflected the feasibility of the IDB Group's contributions within the short timeframe of the country strategy.
