Dual-use photovoltaic (PV) technology represents an innovative approach to renewable energy generation, integrating solar panels into existing infrastructure or land already serving other purposes. Despite its benefits, dual use PV installation remains far below potential due to various barriers and insufficient legislation adaptation. This publication provides an overview of dual-use PV potential, applications, benefits, barriers, and policy. It also offers policy recommendations and practical tips for meeting the Dual use potential, in three main aspects: 1) planning, permitting and land pricing; 2) economic incentives; and 3) grid access.
