This document presents blockchain technology for a non-technical audience. First, we give an overview of how it works and what are its features, covering what are transactions, blocks, consensus protocols or hash functions. Then, we move to a strategic approach with a blueprint to identify if the technology is useful for a specific use case, explaining how to identify if there is a need of decentralization, record, immutability, consensus, validation or transparency. Finally, we also address the field of cryptocurrencies in the annex.
