This publication continues the efforts of the IDB Group to deepen the knowledge about what is happening around the entrepreneurial world in Agtech in Latin America and the Caribbean. This study seeks to illustrate the recent evolution of the sector, deepen knowledge about new technologies and their application and identify what are the future challenges to generate impact. The study highlights 10 start-ups, and tries to deepen in i) what type of innovations make up the Agtech ecosystem in LAC, ii) what type of technologies are currently used, iii) the role of women in Agtech ecosystems and iv) and the role of corporations.
