Integration and Trade Capacity Building Program

The IDB has developed a capacity building program as an instrument for the implementation of the 'Integration Strategy' as well as to support operations in terms of trade negotiation and trade agreement implementation, trade security and facilitation, customs innovation, export promotion and investment attraction, physical integration including international freight, border crossings, energy interconnection, and efficiency and broadband access. Since 2012, 5,500 professionals from integration and trade entities form the region have been trained and certified. This Program is led by the Integration and Trade Sector - Vice-presidency of Sectors and Knowledge of the IDB - in partnership with its Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (INTAL) http://iadb.org/intal, and the Inter-American Institute for Economic and Social Development (INDES) http://www.iadb.org/es/indes/.
