Date
Jul 2017
The objective of this study is to assess the potential for electrical interconnection of power systems in the Arco Norte region of South America, which consists of the countries of Guyana, Suriname, Brazil (with its northern states of Amapá and Roraima) and French Guiana (an overseas department of France). This report (Component II – Pre-Feasibility Study) summarizes the second part of the Arco Norte study; it builds on the first part (Component I – Baseline Study finalized in July 2016) analyzing in greater detail the best interconnection alternative, and presents a roadmap for its implementation.
