Trade Facilitation: What, Why, How, Where and When?

Date
Nov 2006
This presentation discusses insights from some of the world's traditional trade facilitation scholars. The objective is to try and go beyond taxonomies and to outline new methodologies by which the economic significance of trade facilitation initiatives are being measured. Then, some of the new empirical evidence is showed and the authors put forward the issue on what the policy priorities should be for trade facilitation from a theoretical and empirical perspective. Finally, they aim at discussing in what forums those priorities should be pursued. This presentation was created for the LAEBA Third Annual Meeting, held in Seoul, Korea on November 16-17, 2006.
