The objective of this evaluation is to assess the role of the Inter-American Development Bank's (IDB or Bank) support to agricultural development in the region since 2002. It reviews the relevance of IDB's overall support and the relevance, implementation, and effectiveness of selected projects in three key thematic areas: direct support to farmers, animal and plant health and food safety, and land administration and regularization. It seeks to identify the factors that affect the success of various types of interventions in different contexts and to provide recommendations on how the Bank can enhance its support for the sector. One purpose of the evaluation is to provide guidance for the update of the Sector Framework Document (SFD) in 2016.
