Date
Sep 2010
This technical notes summarizes the results of the application and update of the IDB's Indicators of Disaster Risk and Risk Management for borrowing member countries. The four indicators -Disaster Deficit Index (DDI), the Local Disaster Index (LDI), the Prevalent Vulnerability Index (PVI), and the Risk Management Index (RMI)- measure a country's economic capacity to recover from a catastrophic event; susceptibility due to exposed infrastructure and people; social and environmental risk associated with small-scale disasters; and past risk management performance.
