AB  - This presentation discusses the creation of the IDB Disaster Network and gives a background on disaster risk management and finance, including a brief description of the various mechanisms available for risk transfer and finance.  In addition, this report covers the various IDB activities in the field of natural disaster management, which were implemented as part of the Bank's Action Plan to reduce the impact of disasters. This document was presented by the Natural Disaster Network of the Regional Policy Dialogue for the First Hemispheric Meeting held on November 15th and 16th, 2001.
