This paper presents principles and a methodology that may contribute to improve the preparation of  Financial Services Negotiations (FSNs) in countries in the Latin America.  Included are a discussion of multilateral agreements; strategic considerations for FSNs; Financial Services Negotiations in Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and the methodology of preparation for creating an FSN.
