AB  - Although the leaders of the four member countries repeatedly affirmed their complete faith in the integration process, the outlook for MERCOSUR has been uncertain and gloomy as a result of Brazil¿s modification of the exchange regime in mid-January 1999, the negative effects of the fall in commodity prices, and the severe recession affecting Argentina and Brazil since the end of last year.
