abstract = {Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) represent one of the most advanced frontiers of contemporary technological innovation, enabling a direct connection between brain activity and digital devices. This technology, resulting from the convergence of neuroscience, Artificial Intelligence (AI), biomedical engineering, and data science, allows neural signals to be translated into operational commands, opening new possibilities in human-machine interaction.

This report analyzes the current state of BCIs, their development trends, and their implications from a development-oriented perspective, with special focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. Throughout the document, we examine the technological foundations of these interfaces, their evolution from research environments to emerging clinical applications - and the global innovation ecosystem driving their advancement.},
