abstract = {This is OVE’s fourth independent evaluation of the IDB’sprogram in Chile. The diagnostic assessments in the previous CPEs (documents RE-320, RE-380, and RE-465-1) highlighted Chile’s difficulty in maintaining high levels of productivity and a more diversified range of exports, and in reducing social inequality gaps. For their part, both the previous CPEs and OVE’s evaluation on higher-middle-income countries (RE-447-1) highlighted the IDB’s limited competitiveness in a country like Chile, which has access to capital market finance, and the difficulty of finding a business model adapted to this situation. Some of
these evaluations also highlighted the importance of the IDB Group’s potential nonfinancial “value added” in this context.},
