abstract = {"Women at Work: Challenges for Latin America" presents a series of empirical studies that use household survey data from Latin America to analyze trends in female labor force participation rates, the impact of trade liberalization on women's work, tendencies in gender wage differentials and occupational segregation, and the gender implications of pension reform. This book presents evidence that women are overrepresented in the informal sector, which means that a large and growing majority of working women have no access to formal social insurance and labor instruments.  A comparative analysis across countries provides a general perspective of the situation of Latin American women in the labor force.},
